"Ravenous" could be the snapshot of a bad dream, the memory of a nightmare where one sees oneself helplessly overpowered by a dark, evil force. In my mind, the Raven combines the ominous concept of the vile with the name that unmistakably lends itself to an image of the merciless rapture.
